THE VEHICLES: We conduct the tours in our own customized passenger vehicles, each outfitted with sufficient technology to get the job done.
We are the only tour company that has true mobile Doppler radar and additional equipment required to stay connected to the internet so we can access weather data while on the road; we also carry commercial radios to permit the individual vans within the armada to remain in constant contact while on the road. Also, we are one of the few storm chasing tour operators that maintain proper insurance for your peace of mind. Our equipment includes:
Passenger vehicles that have been customized for maximum enjoyment of the storm chasing experience just for you!
Portable computers with state-of-the-art radar, GPS navigation and wireless data capability.
Private channel commercial radios for van-to-van communications.
Numerous power outlets for charging your equipment.
Smoking inside the vans is forbidden. Please see our FAQ page for additional info
TOUR MEETING LOCATIONS: All tours will meet/depart from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Additional details will be emailed to you prior to the start of your tour. This information always includes details such as: suggested packing list, typical tour daily itinerary (if possible) and arrival day logistics
WHEN TO ARRIVE AND DEPART: Each trip is bracketed by so-called “arrival” and “departure” days. These dates are established for the purpose of allowing people sufficient time to travel to and from the base city. For each of the dates listed in the 2019 Tours tab above, you must arrange to travel to the base city on your tour’s designated arrival day and you must arrange to depart (unless, of course, you plan to stay in that city afterwards) on your tour’s designated departure day or before. Example: If you are scheduled for the “Mayhem 4 Tour” (May 23 to May May31 with a departure date of June1), you would arrive at Will Rogers International Airport (OKC) on May 23 sometime early during the day several hours prior to 7 pm local time (at which time an orientation meet and greet is conducted unless we have severe weather locally - in which case we will chase. Hence why we ask all guests to book as early of a flight as possible. Your last chase date on May 31 is usually a local chase day. Meaning the weather pattern is usually conducive for severe weather and tornadoes within driving distance to Tulsa. Please note that we may arrive very late - after 10pm possibly unless we return to the host hotel late the evening before.
